The Cooper Trooper

This little man is almost one! This is my third time photographing him and it couldn't have been better! He has definitely turned into a little charmer :) For his first birthday he is having a cowboy themed party  so I definitely had to get a few with the cowboy hat and boots. We had even given him the nickname "Cooper Trooper" by the end of the session :)

Hope you have a blast at your party Cooper! Happy Birthday!

The Good Ol' Days

Remember the days back when 4th and 5th graders didn't have cell phones? When the only way you knew it was time to go home was when it got dark out side.. AND of course you'd wait till the last minute, so you'd race back on your bike with your siblings and neighborhood friends hoping not to be late... Remember that friend in elementary school that you spent every possible minute with? Well I'd like you to meet mine, Grace. Over the years, between going to different schools and both of us moving from the neighborhood, we had lost touch. A few weeks ago though, I received a text message from her asking if I would get a few pictures of her, saying she had seen some of my work on facebook and she just needed one... Well we got quite a few more than that! Probably because I just kept shooting the whole time we talked about the good ol' days! From the instant we started talking it was like we were old friends again and hadn't skipped a beat. We chatted about old memories, college, and plans for the future.

Grace, is definitely a force to be reckoned with. This summer she is going to Guatemala for a medical internship. She will be assisting in mobile medical clinics and translating between physicians and patients for 6 weeks. I definitely pray that you will have a safe journey Grace!

As some of you may know I am also a dance teacher at Massay's Dancestar Productions. Rockie Dunn Massay is the co-owner of Massay's Dancestar Productions and she was my dance teacher for many years. She is now my boss but above all she is a great friend. I always have someone to turn to if I ever need advice on life or just wanna chitchat. I am so blessed and thankful that I am able to continue working there. It is such a fun and loving environment! Her family is incredibly sweet and have so much fun and laugher in their life. This session was full of laughter and jokes and I couldn't have hoped for anything else! Love you guys!

Permire Issue of The Brides of North Texas

The Brides of North Texas issue comes out this month and it's FABULOUS! You may remember me mentioning it in this post. Ashley and Kami did such an amazing job putting it together. My sister modeled for the magazine and I got to help out on set. I have to say I could not be more proud of her and the photographers David and Luke Edmonson are fantastic. To check out the video watch below or visit their site to view more of the magazine and additional videos: http://www.bridesofnorthtexas.com/gown-shoot-edmonson-weddings.

long time no see... or blog in this case :)

Well let me just tell you, its been the longest two weeks of my life! But hey, thats good because we could all use a little more chaos in our life, right? haha, I kid. But really its been adventurous. First, I went to San Francisco to take a class, it was fabulous. Second, I went to Market in Dallas with my sister Ashleigh. My family is opening up a business in Oklahoma City. (Stay tuned for updates on what and where!) Now let me just tell you a few little facts about my trip to San Fran.

One. I could hear the city streets at night in the apartment. The ringing of the sirens and construction workers along with the zooming cars, now that will put you to sleep.
Two. I have been to San Francisco twice now and I have yet to have the seen the Golden Gate Bridge... I know I'm a slacker. I can only imagine how cool it looks... but there just wasn't any time. Bummer.
Three. I have ABSOLUTELY no idea how people drive on the hills! I mean seriously in Full House they look pretty steep but in person its like Mount Everest! Ok maybe I'm exaggerating, but let's be honest, all I have to compare it to is the flat plains of Oklahoma :)
Four. Bloomingdales. Oh My Goodness, Bloomingdales. It was like a moment in shopaholic. Floors upon floors of delicious goodies. But I'm sad to report, no souvenirs. But hey its always fun to window shop!
Five. I felt an Earthquake! I was on the 7th floor of the apartment and the room kinda moved. My thought was 'Wow the construction workers really must have dropped something heavy to make it reach all the way up here!" and it wasn't until later that day the newscaster reported a 6.5 earthquake across the bay and I put the two together.
Now with that said, on a more serious note, I am lucky that the earthquake wasn't disastrous but unfortunately the earthquake in Haiti was. I pray that we will all come together and extend our hand in whatever we can do as we would hope others would do for us. I believe in the power of prayer and if you are ten years old reading my blog saying.. 'hum what can I really do?' Take a minute and send a prayer. It goes a long way.

Now because I just wrote five million words and you're probably asking 'com'on Caroline where are the pictures!' Well, let me share a picture of the view from the balcony of the apartment. I promise more pictures in the next post!

Two post coming soon of a family that I keep close to my heart and another of sweet baby Joey!
